Enfora has WiFi for the Tungsten E
We recalled while sitting in the local wireless Starbucks sometime back, a friend and new Tungsten E owner asked if there’s an option (then) for him to go WiFi with his handheld. We talked about the possibility of third-party manufacturers soon reproducing SD WiFi cards for palmOne handhelds (yeah, right) but warning him that he shouldn’t keep his hopes up …

Well … the fact is it hasn’t changed at all; there still isn’t a SD WiFi card out there that palmOne would allow its PDAs to work with. So what’s the next-best thing? Enfora’s Wireless LAN Portfolio: Mini-USB, $169.00 at Enfora Shop.
It’s a leather-bound case that has the WiFi radio plus a battery to power it, built-in. The radio then connects to the Tungsten E via its mini-USB connector; something that’s pretty interesting given the fact that even palmOne itself does not say much of the “limited functionality” of its mini-USB connectors on its Zire handhelds (with the exception of the Zire 71) and the Tungsten E.
That said, Enfora has not made it clear if the Wireless LAN Portfolio would work on any other PDA with a mini-USB connector or not. If we take it by the word, Enfora states that it’ll only work with the Tungsten E.
Thanks to Palminfocenter for the tip.
