HTC Typhoon to have joystick in USA?

We found an interesting thread in HowardForums: Forum member andresalazar was commenting that he’s trying to get the HTC Typhoon (also popularly known as the Orange SPV C500) Smartphone for his company deployment, and has been in contact with i-mate in the US.

Apparently, he’s told that i-mate will be releasing a slightly modified version of the Typhoon in the US, the SP3 - announced in Dubai, UAE with availability expected there early-September 2004.

What’s the mod? A 5-way joystick in place of the “tipping” up/down navigation bar, with expectation of the gaming interface bugs eliminated. Read the HowardForums’ thread here yourself.

Don’t you just love smartphone providers/manufacturers that listen and respond well to its customers? :-)
