palmOne Tungsten T5, Dell Axim X50 comin’ right up
‘Tis the season to be jolly for new gadget launches, awright … Only this year, it’s ever more exciting that the years gone by. The Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket LOOX 700 series, Asus A730, Toshiba e830, HP iPAQ hx2000 series … and now the Tungsten T5 from palmOne and Axim X50 series from Dell. Woohoo!
We like how the Tungsten T5’s shaping up in terms of its rumored specs: A 320×480-resolution, non-sliding design screen, Intel XScale 520MHz processor, 126MB RAM(!), Bluetooth and WiFi radios, PalmOS Cobalt(??) … wow. If these specs come true of the Tungsten T5, what would the replacement model for the Tungsten C have?? Expected launch/sale November 2004 with an estimated $399.oo pricetag. Dell’s entering the year-end gadget race at full wick with the rumored Axim X50, according to a report by BargainPDA. A total revamp of its physical design, coupled with a 3.7″ VGA screen and dual-slot SD/CF capability probably is conceived to go head on with HP’s hx4700 and the rest of the VGA gang from Fujitsu-Siemens, Asus, and Toshiba. Expected release date in October 2004; prices undetermined.
