RIM debuts another “smartphone”

Fresh from a good showing of the Blackberry 7100t on T-Mobile, RIM announces another model the 7100v that again uses its new SureType input technology.
Looking remarkably like a certain Motorola cellphone model and only fractionally shorter/narrower than its sibling the 7100t (the weigh the same at 4.3oz/120g), the 7100v is targeted for launch October 2004 in Europe and Australasia exclusively by Vodafone. Specs are virtually the same as the 7100t, and that includes Bluetooth. There are no prices mentioned as the time of this posting.
UPDATE: Treonauts’ blog points us to an article at ZDNet UK that says the 7100v will be available from Vodafone UK from 1 October “from free to £82.50 (ex. VAT)” with a contract. (That’s approximately $0.00 to $148.00.)
