The unexpected Zen Micro Photo
Yup; this flew right by us, just as engadget expects. Creative really means business in taking its fight to Apple - and announced the photo-displaying version of its tight Zen Micro, the Zen Micro Photo at the recently-concluded CES exhibition in Las Vegas. It also helps that it has won another “Best Of CES” award for Creative.

What took us by total surprise was the use of a 130×130-pixel, 1.5″ OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Display) screen that allows for a wider viewing angle, while consuming less power. Hmm: 1.5 inches, diagonal? That sounds awfully small …
Like its Apple equivalent the iPod Photo the Zen Micro Photo don’t do video, either - just JPEG pics and WMA/MP3 music. Expected on sale Summer ‘05 in 5GB and 6GB sizes for US$299.00 and US$349.00, respectively. (What’s with the 1GB diff, Creative?)
