We must have totally overlooked this for ages, but nevertheless we are pleasantly informed by Dell that the Axim X50v 624MHz (the one with BT and WiFi built-in) is finally on sale at Dell Malaysia’s website.

It is available with 2x 128MB SD cards plus free shipping in Malaysia for RM1,988.00 (approximately $523) until 2/18/05. After that, you get no SD cards and shipping applies. Price on page erroneously shown as RM2,008.00 that includes shipping but actual price will apply when clicking thru for purchase.

If anyone would recall, Axims with WiFi radios built-in had not been getting any love at all from the regulatory authorities in Malaysia, although WiFi-enabled devices from other manufacturers such as HP and palmOne never had the cold shoulder when they launched.

While conspiracy and other theories abound, we are just glad that Malaysians can now buy direct from Dell one of the best Windows Mobile powered PDA there is on the market today.
