Attack the PDA, get flamed already

When you step into a house full of cigar smokers, don’t light up a cigarette … or at least don’t knock the cigar.

Molly Wood, a senior editor at CNET.com’s Anchordesk learnt it the hard way when she wrote a very strongly worded article decrying the death of standalaone PDAs. She ended up having 179 comments with the majority lambasting her um, journalistic skills - ouch.

Or maybe she got what she wanted by way of tabloid-style sensationalism … whatever the reason we think CNET has gone overboard this time allowing trash-talk into its reporting.

The PDA might be learning new tricks such as increasing its connectivity options via cellular and wireless LAN - therefore re-inventing itself - but for a product that has an almost fanatical folllowing, never ask for its death.
