Sun to make Solaris notebooks?
Wow; a bit of unofficial news worth mentioning … Apparently during an interview with internetnews.com, a (no doubt, over-enthusiastic) division marketing manager with AMD’s mobile processor group let it fly that Sun Microsystems has … “expressed interest in producing its own brand of Solaris notebooks running on AMD processors.”
Of course, the internetnews.com team scrambled to get some sorta official word from Sun Microsystems, but drew a blank. A very nervous blank, we’re certain: “Who the heck let out our top-secret plans to dominate mobile supercomputing?!” would probably be the cry within Sun’s boardrooms now … Run, Mr. AMD Div Marketing Manager; run!
