The new Nokia mini-tablet
Nokia breaks out the first of its promised new line of mobile Internet devices, the 770 Internet Tablet.
With a 4″ horizontal screen, RS-MMC memory slot, built-in WiFi and Bluetooth radios, running a Linux-based OS - the 770 comes close to being a PDA rather than a Tablet PC. So we are not very sure just where Nokia wants to take this device, although they envisage it being a mobile screen companion to your WiFi-enabled home. A larger screen would better position it in its intended market; we really don’t need yet another small-screen device in our lives.
The price could be a defining factor for the success of the 770 Internet Tablet, though: $350. Nokia will make it available for purchase come Q3 of this year in the Americas and Europe. No news of availability in other continents especially in Asia Pacific, which is really uncommon of Nokia.
